Editor loves and inspiration

Look what catches the eye of the editor with a special emphasis on local Essex wedding businesses, shops and suppliers.

The vision of shoot organiser, Lisa Curtis from Gemini Styling, was to inspire brides by the transition from summer through to autumn. The loose, cascading half-up hairstyle represented the fall of autumnal leaves embellished with golden accessories. The shoot is featured in full in our May/June issue available now to read online for FREE

Hedingham Castle is set within 160 acres of stunning Essex countryside including the beautifully restored gardens in the immediate area below the Castle – the perfect backdrop for wedding photography. Our favourite spot is the lake, with the Castle behind, or in between the huge Wellingtonia trees at the bottom of the formal pond. The history of Hedingham spans almost a millennium, with the Castle almost 900 years old. Its imposing Norman architecture is iconic and the Castle is a landmark in its own right and can be seen for miles around, standing at over 70ft tall. The majestic castle is arguably the best preserved Norman Keep of its kind in the country, both inside and out.
Milsoms Kesgrave Hall is a beautiful venue with stunning outdoor space. Our real bride Paige tells us, “We knew we wanted an outdoor venue that we could make our own. The other wow factor is their marquee which has a starlit ceiling making it feel so magical and intimate.”

So many couples now want their four-legged friends as part of their big day! As Paige adds, "We loved that our little puppy Koba came and joined us after the meal which made us both beam with happiness as he's our little fluffy boy so was lovely to have him join part of our day!”

Alex and Hollie met at university. From friendship more blossomed and the pair were inseparable. On a summer's walk along Maldon Promenade, Alex popped the question and of course, Hollie said yes! On Friday 13th October 2023, Hollie and Alexander Martin married at Layer Marney Tower. How amazing to have an autumn wedding!

The Easter, iconic wellbeing brand Rituals Cosmetics has launched with a unique and luxurious twist to the traditional Easter festivities with their limited-edition Easter eggs. Whether you're savouring a Sunday roast or enjoying an Easter brunch with friends and relatives, surprise your host or loved ones with a token of gratitude that goes beyond the ordinary. Easter signifies a team of renewal and fresh beginnings, and both, The Ritual of Sakura and The Ritual of Karma Easter eggs, align perfectly with this spirit.

The Ritual of Karma is enriched with white tea and lotus flower, designed to help you radiate positivity, serving a reminder to live with good karma and practice kindness. The Ritual of Sakura is inspired by the springtime Japanese Hanami practice of viewing cherry blossoms, reminding us that we should make the most of every moment. Each egg is more than a gift; it's an invitation to experience something new, a small symbol of spring that embodies the essence of the season. These gifts offer a novel and enjoyable twist on the annual Easter egg hunt, creating lasting memories and moments of Joy.

Do pop into Rituals, Bond Street, Chelmsford if you want to pick up an Easter treat!
