Pearly Queen
Q | My hubby-to-be and I are getting married next summer, and I'd like to incorporate the season into my accessories. Do you have any suggestions? |
A | Lorraine Thomas says: Whatever the season, pearls are timeless and elegant and can be incorporated into all aspects of your wedding day. For the bride-to-be, pearl jewellery is often one of the most popular choices as there are so many options available. Pearls are never out of fashion; they can be worn for many years and handed down through the generations and will always hold special memories of a perfect day. A classic single row adds understated glamour, long drop earrings with delicate CZ accent stones add just the right amount of sparkle. A simple pearl pendant can sometimes be that finishing touch and the size and shape of the pearl is easily adaptable according to the neckline of the gown. Pearls can be incorporated into the bridal shoes (think Jimmy Choo for total luxury) and of course veils, tiaras, hair pins and fastenings very often feature pearls. For bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom, pearls are again a perfect choice as a thank you gift and an accessory to wear on the day. It's often said that 'pearls are the queen of gems and the gems of queens' so why not incorporate these beautiful gems into your summer wedding. |
