The Camden Watch Company has released a new timepiece in collaboration with chef Tom Brown
British independent designers Anneke Short and Jerome...
The Fleuss Automatic Marlborough Limited Edition watch is a new addition to Spinnaker Watches’ Fleuss collection, which pays tribute to Henry Fleuss, a celebrated diving pioneer.
Spinnaker Watches pay tribute to Fleuss for his contribution to the advancement of diving technology. Whilst working at sea, Fleuss realised the need for more advanced equipment as he saw his team expend great amounts of effort and time with cumbersome equipment. In 1878, Fleuss conceptualised the cutting-edge equipment, known today as the David Submarine Escape Apparatus, that both compressed oxygen and absorbed carbon dioxide thus freeing the diver from external support. Fleuss’ invention paved the way in World War II maritime warfare and is widely recognised as the first practical closed-circuit breathing apparatus.
The Fleuss Automatic Marlborough Limited Edition references the progression Fleuss made during the 19th century with its ‘pumpkin’-style crown and cathedral-style hands, reminiscent of the watches of the era. The indexes, coated in Swiss Super-LumiNova, and paired with the watch’s ability to withstand depths of 150m, provide optimal visibility in low-light conditions.
This limited edition timepiece is available in two colourways, with 250 pieces per model. Available at www.spinnaker-watches.co.uk
