And just like that we've stepped into 2025! I love the start of the year, a fresh start. Time to de-clutter, open that brand new diary (stationery addicts you know the feeling!) and manifest the best year of your life. This is when the countdown truly begins for our 2025 brides and grooms - your year has arrived.
This issue, we’ve plenty to inspire. Experts in their field, we talk to venue stylists about what trends they think will be huge – we’re talking disco balls, bright, oversized florals and bows – my personal fav! Our photography feature is packed with photo inspo, true artists in their field, we’re spoilt for choice in Essex. Styles can vary so much from editorial portraits to traditional to completely candid snaps, so do take a look at their online galleries, social media accounts or ping them an email – they’re a friendly bunch!
I’ve also caught up with three couples, all recently wed, who have kindly talked us through their big days – all so different and beautiful – a true reflection of their personalities. Looking through the galleries of your real weddings is the highlight of my job, so please do keep ’em coming.

Braxted Park Estate
What to expect At the heart of a vast walled estate, you’ll find Braxted Park Estate’s magnificent country house and its stunning gardens. The intimate gardens that connect Braxted House to the grand Wedding Pavilion provide an idyllic setting for any wedding vision. Within the historic Walled Garden guests can enjoy a series of themed ‘rooms’ that include a romantic English Garden, a Knott Garden and an Italian Garden. The year-round interest each provides creates beautiful and varied backdrops for wedding photographs.
Combing elegance and romance throughout its interior, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to saying, ‘I do’. The Orangery exudes romance, with Roman-inspired murals and arched windows that look out over the grounds. Alternatively, during the warmer months, tie the knot outdoors at the heart of the walled garden as your guests soak up the sun. Braxted Park Estate even has its own church, so you could have a religious ceremony just a few minutes away from the house should you wish to. Each option is capable of seating up to 170 guests.
When it comes to receptions, The Pavilion is perfectly equipped for parties both large and small. This versatile space offers plenty of room for up to 350 guests and comes with neutral décor so you can truly make it your own. The in-house catering team are on hand to create some spectacular menus for your special day, while come evening, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system and huge dancefloor ensures you can enjoy yourselves long into the night.
Woodlands, Braxted Park Estate’s enchanting woodland ceremony space. This secluded setting offers a breathtaking backdrop, complete with a magnificent 600-year-old tree as its centrepiece. Whether you’re planning a civil or humanist ceremony, Woodlands provides a wonderful setting for ceremonies surrounded by nature. After the ceremony, you can also host your drinks reception in this spectacular setting.
