Mulberry House, Ongar

This Georgian manor house wedding venue in Ongar, Essex is tucked away in 22 acres of grounds alongside Mulberry Lake, which once formed a moat around the building, and a canopy of pretty trees. Built in 1767, externally it retains its historical charm with an impressive Doric porch, columns, pilasters and frieze all welcoming visitors. Inside, couples find a house brimming with original features. The Garden Room's lighting and solid-oak flooring creates a vibrant yet intimate atmosphere.

The venue can accommodate 120 ceremony guests and 250 evening guests. Couples can choose to immerse themselves in nature and say their vows in the outdoor Gazebo. Inside, the Mulberry Suite offers a fantastic setting for celebrations with its built-in bar and cloakroom. Designed to offer flexibility, it consists of three rooms that can be adjusted to suit different party sizes. The space, which features two twinkling chandeliers and exposed beams, was designed to complement the house.Hidden behind the manor is the newly refurbished all-season Marquee. It boasts floor-to-ceiling white drapes and a private decked terrace.Accommodation is available in the main house or the affordable courtyard rooms, allowing parties to spend the morning together the next day.
